The Ukrainian army is testing new armored personnel carriers (APCs) for their purchase, the speaker for the information analysis center of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), Volodymyr Chepovy, has said.
"The Ukrainian Armed Forces will hold comparative trials of BTR-3E1s and BTR-4Es (Bucephalus) in order to choose the most suitable armored personnel carrier for the Ukrainian Armed Forces," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.
He said that about 1,000 APCs would be purchased.
Chepovy said that the procurement round would also include the "Watch B" wheeled light armored car.
