Kharkiv Mayor Kernes refuses to comment on possible appointment as Kharkiv regional administration head
Kharkiv Mayor Hennadiy Kernes, who recently survived an assassination attempt, refuses to comment on his possible appointment as head of the Kharkiv regional administration.
"Please throw this question away for the time being. I haven't come here for any offices, but I have returned to my home country and to my friends," Kernes said when asked by journalists on Tuesday whether an offer had been made to him that he should head the Kharkiv regional administration.
Kernes said, however, that he believes the regional administration needs to be replaced.
Kernes returned to Ukraine on Tuesday from Haifa, where he had undergone medical treatment after an assassination attempt.
