Football fans rally outside Russian Consulate General in Kharkiv ends peacefully
EuroMaidan supporters and Metalist football club fans held a march from the Shevchenko monument to Russia's Consulate General in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
The action drew up to 400 people, the police department has reported.
During the march and the rally in front of the consulate protesters sang the infamous song of the Metalist fans about Russian President Vladimir Putin and shouted obscene chants addressed to the Russian president. The participants in the rally in front of the consulate also thanked the Russians who support the integrity and independence of Ukraine, chanted "Well done, Deschytsia!" etc. At the end of the rally, the activists sang the national anthem of Ukraine.
Police officers accompanied the demonstrators along the itinerary of the procession, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent said.
No provocations or incidents were reported.
