One policeman killed, two seriously injured in mortar fire in Sloviansk – Interior Ministry
A special police unit officer has been killed, another two were seriously injured in a mortar attack in Sloviansk, according to the Interior Ministry.
"During the attack, an employee of Ivano-Frankivsk special police unit was killed, two more officers were seriously injured," reads a statement posted on the Interior Ministry's Web site on Friday.
According to the report, militants opened mortar fire from the territory of a local churches in Sloviansk. They were firing at the roadblocks of the Interior Ministry units, which are part of the antiterrorist center, the ministry said.
The wounded law enforcement officers were taken to a military hospital.
