Whereabouts of 200 children whom self-proclaimed authorities evacuated from Sloviansk unknown – ATO spokesman
The whereabouts of over 200 children whom the self-proclaimed authorities of Sloviansk intended to take out of the city is currently unknown, spokesman for the anti-terrorism operation (ATO) Vladyslav Selezniov has said.
At a briefing by telephone, when asked about the situation with the evacuation of children from Sloviansk, Selezniov said: "At present, we do not know where more than 200 children are. According to information received yesterday, a convoy of five buses tried to leave Sloviansk yesterday, the last place where it was seen was a checkpoint manned by separatists on the outskirts of Sloviansk."
According to him, the leadership of the anti-terrorist operation has not received any requests from the self-proclaimed local authorities to create safe conditions for moving the children.
"We do not know where the children are," the spokesman said.
