Wizz Air Ukraine suspends flights on Donetsk-Kutaisi route due to situation in region
Wizz Air Ukraine (Kyiv), the only Ukrainian low-cost air carrier, has suspended the sale of tickets for flights between Donetsk and Kutaisi (Georgia).
Airline commercial director Vadym Tretiak told Interfax-Ukraine that the decision was made in connection with the ongoing events in Donetsk region.
"The safety of our passengers is most important for us, therefore we decided to temporarily close the sale of tickets on this flight," he said.
Tretiak noted that there is no certain timeframe for closing ticket sales for flights on the Donetsk-Kutaisi route and the company would monitor the situation in the region. He added that instead of the flight the company is studying the possibility of increasing the frequency of flights on the Kyiv-Kutaisi route.
