Ukrainian presidential elections went in accordance with democratic standards – OSCE
The OSCE's election monitors in Ukraine have said the Ukrainian presidential elections went in accordance with international norms and standards.
"These elections have confirmed that the people of Ukraine choose democracy," Joao Soares, special coordinator of the OSCE election monitoring mission in Ukraine, said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday.
The election monitors pointed to the high voter turnout in Ukraine. Among the main flaws of the elections were problems with the election campaign and the voting in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and also technical problems that led to lines at polling stations.
