Voting under way in only 2 districts in Luhansk region, not a single polling station open in regional center - voters' committee
Polling stations have opened in only two districts in Luhansk region for the extraordinary Ukrainian presidential election, head of the Voters' Committee of Ukraine in Luhansk region Oleksiy Svetikov has said.
"Voting is under in districts 114 and 115," he said to reporters on Sunday.
Voting is under way in Novospskov, Bilovodsk, Svatove and Troitske districts in the north of the region controlled by the National Guard.
Svetikov said voting there proceeds normally.
In Luhansk itself not a single polling station was opened.
On Saturday the leadership of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic urged voters not to go to elections because provocations were possible at polling stations. It also called to refrain from travels in the city.
The situation in Luhansk is calm. There are few people in the streets.
