Russia will not send its observers to Ukraine election - Kremlin official

The way Ukraine is going to develop further, including the course of its constitutional reform, is more important than the question of who will win the country's presidential election on May 25, Russian presidential chief-of-staff Sergei Ivanov told reporters on Friday.

"Let's see how the elections in Ukraine will go and where they will be held. What counts most to us is not the elections or which candidate will be elected, but what will happen to the country next and how its constitutional reform will be conducted," he said.

When answering one of the questions, Ivanov said that Russia "will not send its observers to the presidential elections [in Ukraine]."
