Bilateral talks between Ukraine, Russia currently impossible – PM Yatseniuk
Premier of Ukraine Arseniy Yatseniuk has excluded the possibility of holding bilateral talks with Russia on settling the situation in Ukraine.
"In my opinion, today bilateral talks between Ukraine and Russia are impossible," he said during a roundtable of the national unity in Mykolaiv on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian premier backed a proposal to carry out a second meeting in the Geneva format with the participation of Ukraine, Russia, the United States and the European Union.
"We're ready for Geneva-2 between Ukraine, EU, the United States and Russia. Just before meeting we need to know what we'll talk about, but not to meet, and then leave [the meeting] with no agreements at the end and to use these meetings just to have a political position," the premier said.
According to him, Russia had carried out military aggression against Ukraine, violated international law, and destroyed the European security system.
