Dobkin: Verkhovna Rada memorandum to be first step towards stabilization in Ukraine
The peace and accord memorandum passed by the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada on Tuesday will be the first step towards stabilization in Ukraine and a restoration of confidence in Ukrainian politicians, Ukrainian presidential candidate (Party of Regions) Mykhailo Dobkin said.
"It was extremely important for people residing in the Luhansk and Donetsk region not to hear threats, accusations or reproofs from politicians but to see the real intention to restore peace and tranquility. The fulfillment of each provision of this memorandum can help restore stability in the country and confidence in politicians," Dobkin said in a statement posted by his press service.
The Verkhovna Rada approved the memorandum on Tuesday with 252 votes. The factions of the Communist Party and Svoboda took no part in the ballot.
