Ukraine to bid for EU membership, hold NATO membership referendum following elections - Tymoshenko
Ukrainian presidential candidate and Batkivschyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko is sure that Ukraine will file a bid for EU membership and hold a referendum on NATO membership following presidential elections scheduled for May 25.
"We should decide where we are: either we are with the democratic world or we are with the post-Soviet empires. Following the elections, a bid will be filed for joining the European Union, and a referendum must be held to clearly determine our strategic future for years ahead. This concerns, among other things, our participation in collective security systems," the Batkivschyna party quoted Tymoshenko as saying.
