No one injured in shooting at Kramatorsk military airfield - ministry

Armed groups opened fire at a military airfield near Kramatorsk (Donetsk region), where Ukrainian military personnel were staying, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.

At around 10 a.m. on May 16, at one the buildings at the military airfield, where servicemen were staying at the time, came under mortar and small-arms fire, the ministry said. "The attackers were firing for 20 minutes from behind green hedges near the military base," the statement said.

The Ukrainian armed fired back to defend the military base. There are no casualties among the Ukrainian servicemen or civilians, the Defense Ministry said.
