Turchynov asks people in Donetsk, Luhansk regions to support security operation

Ukraine's Parliamentary Speaker and Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov has said that the actions of the separatists in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions undermine the welfare of citizens, and urged people in these regions to support the security operation.

"First of all, these … actions hit precisely our citizens. And I am appealing to the residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions: you need to support the conduct of the antiterrorist operation and together to put an end to the terrorists and separatists both in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions," Turchynov told Verkhovna Rada on Friday.

"You can see that the actions of separatists and terrorists endanger not only the life and health of our citizens but their welfare as well, i.e. they block the possibility of paying pensions, salaries," the speaker added.
