Kyiv hosting first all-Ukrainian roundtable of national unity
The first all-Ukrainian roundtable of national unity started in parliament on Wednesday.
Acting President of Ukraine and Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oleksandr Turchynov opened the event, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
The roundtable is attended by former Ukrainian Presidents Leonid Kravchuk and Leonid Kuchma, as well as presidential candidates Sergiy Tigipko, Renat Kuzmin, and Yulia Tymoshenko. Other participants include the leadership of the Verkhovna Rada, the leaders of religious denominations, foreign ambassadors and diplomats, in particular U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt, and MPs of different factions. Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk is expected to take part in the roundtable as well.
