Ukrainians supporting NATO membership in minority - poll
Should Ukraine hold a referendum on NATO membership in the very near future, 36.7% Ukrainians would vote yes and 41.6% would say no.
According to the findings of the latest poll by the Razumkov Center, NATO membership is most actively supported in western Ukraine (67%), with only 10.5% opposed. In central Ukraine, NATO membership was favored by 46.9% respondents (27.7% opposed).
The majority of respondents in the south and east of Ukraine are against their country's membership in the North Atlantic alliance, with 60% and 68.4%, respectively (16.3% and 14.6% in favor).
The poll was conducted by the Razumkov Center sociologists among 2,012 respondents aged 18 and above in all Ukrainian regions on April 25-29, 2014.
