Tymoshenko, British foreign secretary discuss Ukrainian election
Ukrainian presidential candidate, Batkivschyna party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has met with British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs William Hague to discuss the Ukrainian situation and the upcoming presidential election, the Batkivschyna party press service reports.
"I am grateful for the UK's support in this complex period of time in Ukraine," Tymoshenko said at the meeting held in Kyiv on Wednesday.
Hague expressed his concern about the position of Russia, which, in his opinion, was trying to impede the Ukrainian election.
Meanwhile, Tymoshenko stressed the importance of the May 25 presidential election and the need for the expression of will by Ukrainian citizens, among them residents of eastern and southern regions.
The sides also discussed bilateral and multilateral economic, financial and technical assistance to Ukraine.
