Japan's PM urges Russia to recognize legitimacy of Ukraine's elections

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has said that the Russian authorities should recognize the legitimacy of the presidential elections in Ukraine, scheduled for May 25.

"The parties [in Ukraine] should recognize the legitimacy of the election results, and Russia should do the same," he said during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen in Brussels.
