Preparations for presidential elections in the Donetsk region are proceeding according to schedule, said head of the state regional administration Serhiy Taruta.

"We have been keeping up with the schedule which guarantees that the presidential elections will be held on May 25," he told reporters in Kyiv on Tuesday.

But he also said that organizational problems have emerged, including in Sloviansk. He said he had reached an agreement with the Central Election Commission that the city election commission will be moved to another nearby populated area, where security will be guaranteed.
