Provocations possible in Kyiv on May 9 – Turchynov

Interim President and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov has said that subversions and provocations could be committed in Kyiv and other regions in Ukraine on May 9, Victory Day.

"Their goal is to overthrow the government in Kyiv. Checkpoints with serious checks have been set up in the capital, because we expect that there could be provocative actions on May 9, not only in the capital. It's necessary to be careful in all regions of the country, where saboteurs, provocateurs could operate," he said in an interview with on Channel 5 on Sunday evening.

Turchynov also added: "In fact, war is being waged against us. And we must be prepared to repel this aggression."
