US to respond immediately if Russian troops cross Ukrainian border, says Ambassador Pyatt

If Russian troops cross the Ukrainian border, the U.S. response will be instantaneous, U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt has said.

If Russian troops cross the border, it will be a serious escalation and the United States will react immediately, Pyatt said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

He said such a scenario would lead to tragic consequences.
