Ukraine to be on agenda of Council of EU on May 12

The Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union will gather on May 12 to cover the situation in Ukraine, EU diplomacy chief's spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic said in Brussels on Tuesday.

In addition, European Commission spokesperson Pia Hansen once again confirmed that the European Union moves forward with plans to extend economic sanctions against Russia.

"That work is ongoing and will be completed swiftly," she said.

Hansen assured that that the individual sanctions against a number of Russian and Ukrainian individuals in the EU countries Union are being applied according to the decision of the Council of EU.
