Situation in eastern Ukraine to be resolved within 48 hours through talks or force - Avakov

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said that the situation in three eastern regions of Ukraine will be resolved within 48 hours.

"I think that a solution to this crisis will be found within the next 48 hours... The regime of an antiterrorist operation in all three regions has not been canceled, and we may conduct all planned operations at any time," he told reporters in Kyiv on Wednesday.

He noted that law enforcement officers had two options to resolve the situation - through talks or through force.
