Fifteen people were injured in clashes between pro-Russian protesters and Maidan activists near the Monument to Konstantin Olshansky and his heroic comrades-in-arms in the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv last night, the Mykolaiv News online newspaper reported, citing the press service of the regional healthcare department.
Of them, 11 people were admitted to hospitals with different injuries, and the remaining four are receiving out-patient treatment, the press service said.
"The information available suggests that one man suffered a broken leg, several others sustained head injuries, and several other people were injured by non-lethal weapons," the newspaper said.
A Mykolaiv police spokesman told the newspaper that more than 20 people had been detained during a raid on the regional administration building and the subsequent events near the city's monument.
