Court changes Dobkin's restraint measure from house arrest to personal recognizance
Pechersky District Court in Kyiv has changed the measure of restraint for former Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration and presidential candidate Mykhailo Dobkin from house arrest to personal recognizance.
"The court has decided to change the measure of restraint against suspect Mykhailo Markovych Dobkin from house arrest to personal recognizance, under which he is obliged to appear in court when requested by investigators. A commitment not to leave Kyiv without permission from investigators has been cancelled," investigating judge Ruslan Kozlov read out the ruling in courtroom on Thursday.
As reported, ex-head of Kharkiv regional state administration Dobkin was detained in Kyiv on March 10 on suspicion of committing a crime under Part 2 of Article 10 of the Ukrainian Penal Code (encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine).
On March 12, Kyiv court ruled to place Dobkin under house arrest.
On March 25, Dobkin submitted documents to the Central Election Commission to be registered as a presidential candidate. In this view he asked for the cancellation of the house arrest in order to be able to conduct a full-scale election campaign.
