Turchynov: Russia to pay double, triple price for aggression against Ukraine
Acting Ukrainian President and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov has said he is confident that international institutions will take a positive decision in Ukraine's interests on the issue of compensation from Russia for the damage caused by its denunciation of bilateral agreements.
"That they [the Russian authorities] unilaterally break [the agreements] is a sign of only of the weakness of their position and the absence of any legal foundation, like with their attempt to annex our territory," he said on the Shuster Live program on Wednesday evening.
Turchynov said that Kyiv would soon have "a clear legal position on compensation to Ukraine for billions of losses that Russia has caused."
"And Russia will pay a double, triple price for all these provocations, which it commits against an independent sovereign state," he said.
He said "the whole civilized world" had supported Ukraine and said he had no doubt that "our lawsuits against the aggressor will be supported in all international courts."
