Poroshenko says Tymoshenko won't be his political opponent
Ukrainian presidential candidate Petro Poroshenko says former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will not be his political opponent.
"I suppose we may be rivals in the election for a certain period of time, but I absolutely rule out a situation in which we become political opponents and I am positive that after the election we should jointly take decisive steps with democratic [forces] with regard to the Association Agreement, the reforms, an adamant anti-corruption position, the reform packages and the anti-oligarchic vector," Poroshenko told Channel 5 on Sunday.
He said he was confident that Tymoshenko would support those steps.
Tymoshenko and Poroshenko had filed their documents with the Central Elections Commission for being registered as presidential candidates.
