EU support brings hope Russian annexation of Crimea will fail - Turchynov
Support from EU countries for Ukraine gives reason to hope that Russia's annexation of Crimea will fail, Verkhovna Rada Chairman and acting President Oleksandr Turchynov has said.
"Ukraine will never recognize Russia's attempts to seize Crimea. The Autonomous Republic of Crimea is part of our state. Crimea was, is and will be Ukrainian land. Support from all civilized countries and our strategic partners, EU countries gives us confidence that this aggression will fail and the rights of our citizens to live in an independent country, including in Crimea, will be restored," he said, while opening the 21st meeting of the EU-Ukraine Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Kyiv on Thursday.
Turchynov said that Ukraine's movement into the EU would not be stopped, no matter what provocations came from Russia.
