Head of Myrhorod council dies in hospital after attack
Vasyl Tretetsky, the head of the People's Council of Myrhorod, Poltava region, and former deputy head of the Kharkiv regional state administration, who has recently been beaten by unknown individuals, died in the hospital on Tuesday.
Tretetsky was attacked by unknown individuals near his home in Myrhorod on Sunday morning.
A criminal case was opened on the basis of the article of the Ukrainian Criminal Code dealing with "attempted murder." The investigators believe the attack may be linked to Tretetsky's active civil stance (he was chairman of the Myrhorod People's Council and an active Euromaidan participant) or his activities "before the political period."
