Ukraine, civilized world will never recognize annexation of Crimea, says interim president
Russia is trying to annex Crimea, which is a part of Ukraine's territory, but Kyiv and the civilized world will never recognize the annexation of Ukrainian land, Ukraine's parliament speaker and interim president Oleksandr Turchynov has said.
"The political leadership of the Russian Federation is trying to annex a Ukrainian territory. It is a very dangerous step that, however, carries no legal consequences for us. But it is a dangerous provocation for Ukraine, for Europe and for the world as a whole… Ukraine and the civilized world will never recognize the annexation of Ukrainian land," Turchynov said at a conference call at the Ukrainian Defense Ministry in Kyiv on Tuesday.
