EU sanctions against 21 persons to come into effect by end of day

The sanctions imposed by the European Union against 21 Ukrainian and Russian officials are to come into effect today, on March 17.

The sanctions will cone into effect as soon as the list of the persons who will face travel restrictions and the freezing of assets is published in the official journal of the EU, the EU Council told Interfax-Ukraine.

The list will be published as early as today, the council said.
