Ecology Ministry and Chevron discuss development of Oleska field
Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine Andriy Mokhnyk and representatives of Chevron on March 13 discussed the issue of the development of Oleska deposit (Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions), according to the Web site of the authority.
"The minister stressed that the work of any enterprises, in particular Chevron, must be carried out in strict compliance with environmental standards," reads the report.
The Ecology Ministry, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv regional councils and Chevron decided to form a working group that will organize a tender to engage a contractor for monitoring the environmental state of the Oleska area.
Chevron and the ministry planned a visit of the Ukrainian mission to the United States to familiarize themselves with modern technologies for unconventional gas extraction.
As reported, on November 5, 2013 Ukraine, Chevron Ukraine B.V. and Nadra Oleska LLC signed a production sharing agreement (PSA) for hydrocarbons extraction on Oleska site (Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk regions).
