The police have detained 28 armed men who attacked a bank in Kyiv's Pechersky district.
Over twenty gunmen carrying metal-cutting tools broke into the office of the bank located on Kyiv's Haitsana Street at around 0200, the press service for the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's State Protection Service told Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.
The bank security called the police. When the police arrived, the criminals hid in the bank. The operation to detain them lasted several hours. The criminals did not manage to take anything from the bank.
Twenty-eight people, all citizens of Ukraine, were detained. They were carrying Kalashnikov rifles, over twenty Makarov pistols, and a Saiga short rifle.
