UK ambassador says Russia shouldn't underestimate decisiveness of G-7 regarding sanctions
UK Ambassador to Ukraine Simon Smith has said that EU is prepared to take further measures if there are no positive actions taken by Russia to de-escalate the conflict in Crimea, said UK Ambassador to Ukraine Simon Smith.
The ambassador said this during the discussion in Kyiv on the topic "The Window of Opportunities: What EU Expects of Ukraine and Vice Versa?" on Wednesday.
Smith said that governments of G-7 are determined to turn words into actions.
According to him, the EU supports the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the stabilization of the situation in the country.
The ambassador also said that Russia shouldn't underestimate the decisiveness of the G-7, and that the consequences for Russia in the case of a further rise in tension would be serious.
