Crisis in Ukraine caused by non-signature of Association Agreement with EU by previous government - Tombinski
Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Jan Tombinski has said he thinks that the refusal by the previous Ukrainian government to sign the Association Agreement with the EU is the reason for the current crisis in the country.
"Now we see the consequences of how the non-signature of the agreement influenced the country's sovereignty. This is the price of the inaction of the previous government and the previous president," he said during a discussion "A Window of Opportunity: What Does the EU Expect from Ukraine and Ukraine from the EU?" in Kyiv on Wednesday.
He said that the current crisis in Ukraine was not unique, similar problems were seen in other countries, so the EU will help Kyiv in this situation.
"We know that the EU is able to overcome crises very well," Tombinski said.
