Yanukovych says Ukraine's May 25 presidential polls are illegitimate
Viktor Yanukovych has said that he intends to return to Kyiv in the near future and has described Ukraine's presidential elections, set for May 25, as illegitimate.
"As soon as the situation permits, I will certainly return to Kyiv. Surely, it will not be long," Yanukovych told reporters in Rostov-on-Don, Russia, on Tuesday.
"The presidential elections, which were set for May 25 by this clique that seized power as a result of an unconstitutional coup, are absolutely illegitimate and unlawful," he said.
