Sivkovych dismissed as deputy National Security and Defense Council secretary
Acting Ukrainian President and Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov has dismissed Volodymyr Sivkovych as deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
A respective decree of February 28 has been posted on the Web site of the acting head of state.
As reported, on December 14, 2013, the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office said in a statement that Sivkovych, Kyiv City State Administration Head Oleksandr Popov, former Kyiv police chief Valeriy Koriak and his deputy Petro Fedchuk had been notified of suspicions of abuse of office.
On February 12, 2014, the respective criminal proceedings were closed under a court ruling due to the effect of the amnesty law.
