Verkhovna Rada Chairman and acting President Oleksandr Turchynov has announced the creation of a coalition in the Verkhovna Rada.
"In accordance with Article 83 of the Constitution of Ukraine, I officially announce that a coalition named 'European Choice' was created and registered in the Verkhovna Rada on February 27," he said at a parliament meeting on Thursday, noting that 250 MPs joined the coalition.
He said that the Batkivschyna, UDAR, Svoboda factions, the Economic Development, Sovereign European Ukraine groups and other MPs had joined the coalition.
Turchynov said the number of deputies in the coalition would grow.
