Acting Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has signed an order to abolish Berkut special police units.
"Berkut is gone. I have signed order No. 144 of February 25, 2014, "On the Abolition of Berkut Special Public Security Police Units", Avakov wrote on Facebook early on Wednesday morning.
He said he would provide details at a special press briefing on February 26.
