Yanukovych in Kharkiv, to appear on local TV – president's advisor
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is in Kharkiv and plans to meet with voters and speak on local television, president's advisor and MP Hanna Herman told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The president will speak on television in Kharkiv today," Herman said, without specifying the time and the channel on which Yanukovych should speak.
"The president is performing his constitutional duties. He left for Kharkiv yesterday. There he will meet with voters and will speak on local television," she said.
"And any conjectures on the matter that have appeared have been made by people wanting to destroy the state," Herman said.
Kharkiv is to host a congress of lawmakers of all levels from the southeastern regions of Ukraine, Sevastopol, and the autonomous republic of Crimea on Saturday.
