Kyiv police probe murder of Vesti newspaper journalist
Kyiv police have opened criminal proceedings due to the murder of Vesti newspaper journalist Viacheslav Veremei.
"Criminal proceedings have been opened under Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (murder)," the Interior Ministry's main office in Kyiv reported on Wednesday morning.
As reported, newspaper chief editor Ihor Huzhva confirmed the journalist's death on Facebook. In his words, the journalist and his colleague were coming home by taxi. Unknown men attacked the taxi at an intersection. They started rocking the car, pulled out the driver and his passengers and beat them up. Two men were injured, and the journalist died at a hospital from a gunshot wound.
