Journalist shot dead in Kyiv

Viacheslav Veremei, a journalist of the Vesti newspaper, died amid street clashes in Kyiv, the Medychna Varta medical community said on Facebook.

The journalist reportedly died at an emergency hospital from a gunshot wound in his stomach.

Newspaper chief editor Ihor Huzhva confirmed the journalist's death on Facebook.

In his words, the journalist and his colleague were coming home by taxi. Unknown men attacked the taxi at an intersection. They started rocking the car, pulled out the driver and his passengers and beat them up. Two men were injured, and the journalist died at a hospital from a gunshot wound.
