Ukraine leaders honor soldiers killed in Afghanistan
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has laid flowers at the memorial complex for Ukrainians killed in Afghanistan on the day honoring participants in hostilities in other states, the presidential press service reported on Friday.
The flower-laying ceremony was also attended by Acting Prime Minister Serhiy Arbuzov, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Rybak, Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Andriy Kliuyev, Prosecutor General Viktor Pshonka, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Volodymyr Makeyenko, Head of the Ukrainian Union of Afghan War Veterans Serhiy Chervonopysky, ministers, MPs, members of the clergy, and Afghan war veterans.
The participants in the ceremony honored the victims with a minute of silence.
