Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton "discussed ways of stabilizing the political situation in Ukraine, current economic reforms and measures to strengthen democratic institutions" at a meeting in Kyiv on Wednesday, the Ukrainian leader's office said.
Issues they raised included "the need for public security and for objective, transparent and unbiased investigations into recent high-profile events, and prospects for a constitutional reform," it said in a statement.
