Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muiznieks will visit Ukraine on February 4-10, the ombudsman's press service reported on Monday.
"[Muiznieks will visit Ukraine] to focus on the human rights aspects of the current situation in the country, including the policing of assemblies and the use of force in that context, as well as allegations of abductions, ill-treatment and violations of due process," reads the report.
The commissioner will hold meetings with state officials and representatives of civil society.
At the end of the visit he will present his preliminary conclusions, while a more detailed report will be prepared after the visit.
