Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych is on sick leave, Deputy Head of the State Affairs Department on Medical Issues Oleksandr Orda has said.
"The Ukrainian president has been granted sick leave due to an acute respiratory illness combined with a high fever," the presidential press service quoted him as saying on Thursday.
As reported, Yanukovych on Wednesday evening arrived in parliament for a meeting of the Party of Regions faction. The situation in parliament was quite tense. From 1100 lawmakers attempted to agree on a consolidated bill on amnesty for participants in mass rallies, but they failed to do so.
