15 journalists injured in clashes on Hrushevskoho Street
Fifteen journalists, including foreign ones, were injured in Kyiv in the clashes on Hrushevskoho Street on January 19-20, the Institute of Mass Information reported on Monday.
On January 19, a photographer from Novaya Gazeta (Russia) Yevgeny Feldman got cuts and a broken nose as the result of an explosion of a stun grenade, the organization said.
Employees of various Ukrainian media, in particular the Vesti newspaper, Spilno.tv, the Ukrainian service of Radio Liberty, the 1+1 Channel, and the Voice of Ukraine were also injured during the clashes.
A photographer of LB.ua, Maks Levin, was beaten by hired thugs in Kyiv on Monday when he was returning to his car after the January 19 events on Hrushevskoho Street.
Law enforcement officers also detained a camera man of the spilno.tv online television channel, Volodymyr Karahiaur, allegedly for supplying gasoline for the manufacture of explosive mixtures used by protesters.
