Rada strengthens measures to ensure security of judges and their families
Ukrainian MPs on Thursday supported a bill to strengthen measures ensuring the security of judges and their families.
The law, which was supported by 235 deputies, envisages amendments to the legislation on the judicial system, which strengthen security measures with respect to judges, their families, as well as the employees of courts and law enforcement agencies.
Moreover, the law simplifies the procedure for prosecuting people for contempt of court. It also proposes strengthening penalties for actions related to the disruption of the normal functioning of transport, the violation of rules for holding meetings, and non-compliance with the requirements of the competent authorities.
The law foresees such amendments to the Criminal Code as increased penalties for crimes related to the disruption of public order and intervention in the work of judicial and law enforcement agencies.
