Azarov: Maidan has no constructive proposals for Ukraine
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said that political confrontation in Ukraine has been created artificially and is being fueled with provocations from the opposition.
"There is artificial political confrontation in Ukraine, which is being fueled only with provocations from the opposition and support from certain, unfortunately, foreign figures," he said, while opening a government meeting on Wednesday.
He said that Euromaidan had not brought anything useful to the country over the period of its existence.
"During all this time the Maidan has not given any constructive proposals for the country and has not done anything useful for the people," he said.
Azarov also said that he was deeply impressed and disturbed by the case of a 12-year-old girl whose parents searched for her for two weeks, but she was found on the Maidan. It turned out that she spent all this time there, and none of the adults asked where the child arrived from and who her parents were. In this regard, the prime minister demanded that a tough legal assessment of the use of children in political rallies be made.
