An-12 reportedly crashed into ammunition warehouse - source
The An-12 plane has reportedly crashed into an ammunition warehouse of the 109th arsenal of the Russian Defense Ministry's Main Rocket and Artillery Department.
"The plane crashed into an ammunition warehouse of the 109th arsenal of the Russian Defense Ministry's Main Rocket and Artillery Department while landing on the Irkutsk-2 aerodrome. The warehouse is located not far from the railway station Batareinaya. There is currently no information on casualties among the military," a source familiar with the situation told Interfax-AVN.
A Typhoon plane has been put in place due to the crash, the press service for the Interior Ministry's Main Department for the region told Interfax.
"An operative plan Typhoon has been put in place. We are probing information on a fire at the crash site," the source said, adding that the plane may have been fallen on military warehouses and may have been carrying cargo for an aircraft factory.
